One Quintillionth of a Second

Or, one billionth of one millionth of a second.

1E-15.

Also known as a femtosecond.

At Sublime Laser, we use femtosecond lasers to manufacture precision medical device components from nitinoland metal hypotubes.

The rapid pulses from a femtosecond laser leave less Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) than other cutting methods. This means that nitinol-based components can be cut with extreme precision to tighter tolerances, requiringless post-cut refinement of the original base material.

As an ISO 13485 certified supplier, Sublime Laser can support your Nitinol/Femtosecond laser manufacturing needs, from small R&D projects to full-scale production runs. We can make the precision parts your organization needs, when you need them.

Sublime Laser supports these Femtosecond Laser manufacturing parameters:

  • Geometry of base material: Tube, Rod

  • Materials: Nitinol, Stainless Steel, Precious Metals, Ceramics and more

  • Outside Diameter: 0.007” to 0.313”

  • Wall Thickness: 0.0005” to 0.013”

  • Tube Length: up to 120" or longer

  • Laser Beam Kerf Width: 12 to 30 microns typical

  • Feature Size: 10 microns and larger

If you have complex part requirements outside these parameters, contact us today.

You can also shop our existing inventory of laser cut hypotubes in our store.
